Short term stabilization/detox in length
YASU is a designated facility providing non-medical detox and stabilization services for youth ages 12-17. Youth who access the Involuntary Program have been apprehended by police under the Youth Drug Stabilization (Support For Parents) Act. Youth who access the Voluntary Program have made the decision to access our services and are agreeable to making changes in their lives. YASU is not a treatment facility; however, staff provide support, drug/alcohol education and time for the body and mind to start the healing process during a period of short term stabilization in a locked facility. Clients are given plenty of time to rest and recuperate from the deficits created by their substance abuse. Options for treatment following the stabilization period are explored and encouraged for those clients willing to participate in a longer term treatment program following discharge. For additional information about the program or to request an application form for admission, please contact the Youth Addictions Centralized Intake (YACI) at 1-877-710-3999.
