Lost in Translation 2013 (Vancouver) There is an urgent need to address substance abuse in vulnerable, at-risk individuals; specifically new and expecting mothers. To promote solutions, this event will focus on the impact that substance use has on early human development, specifically, the influence of biological, psychological and social mechanisms in mediating the impact substance use may have on critical development periods during the early stages of the human life cycle.
