Work-shop: “Cross-cultural awareness for enhanced refugee service delivery” – March, 2015

This training is for service providers whose work brings them in contact with newcomers in Manitoba. The main thrust of the course is to elaborate on the experiences and unique challenges of the refugee newcomer. It points to the opportunities and promising practices that ensure successful settlement and integration in Manitoba.

Course participants will further develop cross-cultural capacities for service delivery by improving their knowledge and awareness of cultural differences. They will learn how to apply this to working with high needs immigrants and refugees. The course includes four half day modules delivered over four weeks (March 6, 13, 20 & 27 – 1:00pm to 4:00pm). Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all four modules as modules run in continuum with each building on the previous knowledge shared.

The course is developed and offered by Qualtrica Associates through Family Dynamics with funding from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
